Waddeeli is an online grocery and essentials delivery platform serving Doha, Qatar. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website, place an order, create an account, or contact us, and how we use it.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact and delivery details — name, phone number, email, and delivery address (building, street, zone, landmark) when you place an order or create an account.
- Account information — email and a securely hashed password if you register for an account; order history tied to that account.
- WhatsApp messages — if you message us or receive order-status updates on WhatsApp, we store the phone number and message content so our team can see the conversation and respond.
- Newsletter sign-up — your email address, if you subscribe to be notified about new arrivals.
- Item requests and reviews — contact details and any product feedback you submit.
- Seller and supplier accounts — business name, contact details, and related business information for partners who register to sell or supply through the platform.
- Browser storage — your cart, wishlist, and theme preference are kept in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits; this stays on your device and isn't sent to us until you check out. We also use a small number of session cookies to keep you signed in.
How we use this information
- To fulfil and deliver your orders, and to contact you about them (including WhatsApp order-status updates).
- To operate your account, including signing you in and showing your order history.
- To respond to questions you send us, including via WhatsApp.
- To send new-arrival notifications, only if you've subscribed to the newsletter.
- To review and act on product feedback, returns, and item requests.
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to keep the platform secure.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Payment
Orders are currently settled by cash or card on delivery — we don't collect or store card details through the website.
Service providers we use
We share the minimum information necessary with a small number of providers who help us run the platform:
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — to send order-status messages and to handle WhatsApp conversations with our support team.
- Resend — to send transactional emails, such as account verification.
- Vercel and Neon — to host the website and securely store data in our database.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time — see Your rights below.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose (such as the newsletter). To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
Waddeeli is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
